The documentary takes us on a journey of getting to know a micronation in the future - CELAND. It is the year 2040, new laws on nomadism is passed on for people, where home can be anywhere, live without objects or the need to work, with no labour or possessions. CELAND is an micronation that claims Charleston estate as part of its territory. The nation stages and celebrate notions of privacy as the possibility of freedom. Charleston estate has been occupied and claimed as a sovereign state by ancestors of the Bloomsbury group.
The small group of people search to promote their years of artistic creativity into an artistic venture. They seize the importance of personal relationships and private life, through creating an autonomous lifestyle. The film takes the form of desktop documentary, to examine, record and captures the reality, through methods of structuring, and organising. Where an image is maintained by the boundaries of the frame, the film is preserving the image into an archive. With first and second chapters speaking about real situations and events, interpreting factual materials around the topic of micronation. While the last chapter introduces unreal elements or fictional situations of CELAND.
