VLOG_A day to renew our

LIFE-CHAPTER contract

by Jiayi Lin

It is 2043, and the free marriage party dominated the UK government and launched the free marriage law. The new law allows people to decide on the length of their marriage and guarantees the respective property of the participants. People run through the streets to celebrate the release of the Free Marriage Act. This has led to greater freedom and diversity in marriage, with the option of short or long-term contracts. People no longer marry out of an integration of interests but more out of spiritual empathy and fun. At the same time, a contractual marriage contract will promote good marital relations and social stability. Maintaining the renewal of the agreement will put pressure on the participants and keep growing while maintaining the attraction. The 'other ways of being' discussed in this scene provide an idea of pursuing a relaxed, flexible marital relationship and diverse background where people can combine families. Females will be liberated from the chain of marriage; they do not need to worry about the pressure from the identity of a second or third marriage. Charleston House will be used as a place to practise the new law due to its unique character story setting, and it will offer possibilities for spatial exploration in my thesis moving forwards.
